Team - TOGETHER we achieve more (?)
Have you wondered how a group which seemed so great and dominating can eventually fall some day?? What is the reason behind it? [I'm writing this without wax.] Firstly, the leader plays an important role. Whether she likes it or not, as a leader she should respect her subordinates. In a group, sometimes ANOTHER group exists. That's what we know it as the "clique". When that "clique" becomes dominant, that's when the problem starts. The "clique" tends to influence another party, known as the patron. [Let's see, if I put this in the class POV - yes patron=teacher] Every decision is made by the "clique". Other members of the group = kaput. Is it fair? Members who do not belong to the "clique" are treated as _____. The "clique" takes over everything. Yes, we call this Aristocracy. Just that we don't judge them by their financial abilities. Others have to obey the members of the "clique". Why?? Because they are the powerful ones. Because they are popular. Because they THINK they CAN. Everyone has friends. Likewise, if you're a leader, should you be fair and just to everyone. Not just to your friends. Sometimes, we believe a person becomes a leader because he/she is popular. Let's take that into account. If a leader misuses his/her power, taking advantage on other people by the name of "Leader", getting all benefits for her OWN and her friends, how will a group be A group. How can she lead the group to form a TEAM? Is it possible? With all the internal conflicts and misunderstanding? Is she a successful leader? In a team, of 10 or 20 or maybe 100 members, we always have only ONE leader. May it be the CEO, the MD, the GM whatsoever. Why do we need a leader? A leader is one we can refer to if we need help, someone to count on to govern the team, someone whom we think has the POTENTIAL and worth our respect. What if we have a bias leader, all he/she cares about is her friends, her priority and her dignity? How can a team advance just by obeying orders and orders and orders given by such leader and the advocates? Every decision made is based on the satisfaction of that leader. IS IT FAIR for the subordinates? Just because we do not belong to the "clique", it does not mean she can underestimate us and step on our heads. Do you think she deserves our respect? Do you ever think we can count on her to bring the team to greater level of achievement? I'll leave you to ponder.
