14th June - Charity Event, Youth Park
It was quite a sunny day to start things off. After a moment of chaos in Jammin' Senzation, we managed to settle down in the car, and off we go! Today, the students of Jammin' Senzation will show their talent and musical skills to the Penang folks. And I'm not kidding, some of the students are as young as 5!
Our performance started at around 3.30pm. We managed to attract quite a big crowd. Of course, we had spectacular performances by the children's group, namely, Starz, De Talent and Talentime who performed Pop Star, Freedom and Beauty and the Beast respectively. The highlight, or so I thought (^.^) was definitely the final performance our band!!! We played On Fire and we actually grabbed the attention of some big shots.
And we waited for the arrival of the Governor and the Chief Minister. After their speeches, we got ready for the 'Garden Music'. Well, it's not as nice as it sounds (not to the listeners, of course). We are supposed to play when they're savouring some nice food. :D
Nevertheless, we had fun playing. I felt funny when I played the violin. It was different from playing On Fire because of its fast tempo and interesting, Jazz arrangement. On the electone! And almost immediately, I had to settle down to play classical pieces. But we did our best. Despite of being intruded by mosquitoes.
Performers:
Flautist - Andrew, Cellist - Y'ng Ling, Violinist+Violist - Yap, Violinist - Patsy, Violinist - E-Jiat
And we played: Air, Canon In D, Melodies of Life, Eye on Me, Ave Maria, When I Fall In Love, What a Wonderful World and Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring.
We had a wonderful dinner @ Nando's Queensbay. Thanks, Yap for paying (willingly) and I'll take it as my birthday treat!
And it's 5mins to my 17th birthday! :D:D:D
